GAZA CITY -- All Palestinian factions were united Tuesday in their condemnation of the Israeli helicopter strike against Hamas leader Abdul Aziz al-Rantissi and in their determination to continue the armed struggle, AFP reported. "We strongly condemn this assassination attempt against Doctor Rantissi by the government of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon," said a statement issued by an umbrella organization which includes all major militant groups. The National and Islamic Forces includes 14 groups, among them Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement and the two main radical leftist secular movements. "It is an incommensurable crime by Israel, but we are more determined than ever to continue our intifada against occupation and achieve independence, the return of the refugees and the liberation of Jerusalem," the statement said. "All factions agree to continue the Palestinian national dialogue," it added. Israeli helicopters fired several missiles on Rantissi's car in a mid-morning strike in Gaza City Tuesday which killed three Palestinians and wounded more than 20 people.
